I had another trip up just over the boarder of SC into NC to a small town called Saluda. Quaint little shops line the street where so many call home. A crafty little community where there are lots of local artist and talents are bountiful. One shop had some awesome pottery, jewelery, hand made clocks, purses and even wind chimes. Strolling down the street with my new friend was lovely, he is actually a writer whom just wrote his first book. The title of the book is, The Knowing Gene by Robert Lange. Check it out, it is a great book and one you will not want to put down.

We had lunch at the local old fashion soda fountain shop; limited menu with burgers, hot dogs, slaw and fries. After-wards we drove off to a really spectacular water fall called Pearson's Falls, how he found this place is beyond me but I am sure one of the locals, over a cup of coffee or root beer float in that small shop, gave him the tip. I am sure he was not born a writer but he is truly gifted at it. Learning is something we all can do and we should never halt our minds from doing so. I enjoy writing and really didn't realize it until I went to school. From my early English 101 classes to my English 600 series classes, I learned how to enjoy writing. Some of those classes where tough but the rewards that go along with getting an adult education degree, are worth the struggles. Granite State College was where I put the lessons I learned, to good use. I had so many papers to write through the years. I would write most of my papers on Sunday mornings; sitting on my back porch, a cup of coffee in hand and maybe a sweet roll or scone with fresh jam. It was there that my thoughts would poor out of my fingers onto the keyboard in the early hours of the day. Robert must have his own special way to capture his thoughts and get them on paper. We all learn and what we learn through the years can sometimes open doors for other avenues we want to explore in the future.

Speaking of exploring, take a look at this tunnel we drove through. What engineer's these men must have been. You have to remember this was a one lane tunnel (just enough room for one car), dirt road and just check out the graffiti. It was a good day. The falls were spectacular, the company and conversation was great. I am always just amazed by the beauty that this land holds for us to explore and enjoy.

There will be a sequel coming soon, From Under The Radar..I will be reading it also!!
