Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 had to be one of my best Christmas's in a long time.  My daughter came in from Tennessee for the holidays and I had a significant other in my life. The weather channel had called for snow for the past few days and dreams of a White Christmas was flying through my head. Living in Michigan for about thirty-two years, I loved having snow on Christmas. It not only was so beautiful, it was fun. My brother and I would play in the snow, sled, make snow igloos and snowmen. It was so much fun and to think that the kids here in South Carolina could get that snow experience, just made this Christmas even more special.  The morning started out with our traditional waffle breakfast with all the trimmings: blueberries, applesauce and warm syrup. After breakfast was present time. Erins dogMy friend had come in from North Carolina and the Christmasing began.  I had made my young adults kites this year which they all said, "Mom won the best Christmas Gift award this year", and I got a sweatshirt. Not just any sweatshirt but the sweatshirt with my alma mater on the front. That is right, "GRANITE" was across the front of it. It brought tears to my eyes as I am so proud of myself getting my adult college degree from Granite State College. Yes, that was the best gift ever and it meant so much that he thought of getting it for me.  We then ventured to his aunts home and then his folks house. It has been years since I had such a nice Christmas.  My daughter drove back home to Tennessee the following day but we had a great time and made some great memories. Getting my adult college education gave me some wonderful memories also and also I made some wonderful friends along the way. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year........
