What I Love About Granite State College

I had attended three different colleges during my teen-and-twenty years based on my interests at the time; and after starting a family and being an at-home mom for close to 10 years, decided it was very important for me to finish something I had started many years ago. I applied to GSC, began with one class that would have been a requirement for any degree, and it took close to a year for me to put together all the documentation. My GSC adviser helped define my previous credits, determine best and most economic line to a bachelor's degree, and apply for those transcripts from a decade before. My adviser was patient and we worked through what credits were transferable, and which would not be.

It has taken me almost 8 years since I began with GSC, while raising three children and working full-time, to complete my bachelor's degree.... but at the end of this winter semester, I will have completed a B.S. in Management with a Finance minor. I am proud of myself and my family for their patience, and I have appreciated the hybrid, week-long intensives, on-sight and mostly the flexibility and challenge of the on-line courses over these years. Thank you GSC for giving me the chance to finish what I started and to set an excellent example for my children.

I am single mom raising 3 boys, and being in school in face-to-face classes would have been a struggle for me. GSC has offered online classes throughout my whole degree program which has made it possible for me to raise my kids and work full time, all while going to school. I appreciate the flexibility and hope to see more online classes and hopefully more majors added to GSC!

I love that I was able to complete my associate degree at Granite State College while having an infant and a toddler at home and working full time! The flexibility was amazing!

I love the accommodating staff at the GSC Claremont campus. They are always very attentive to the needs of the students. They are always willing to lend a helping hand when it comes to the students. I never hesitate to ask questions because I know they will do the best they can to find the answer if they don't already know it. I would have given up with the schooling thing long ago if it wasn't for them. They are my biggest reason for not going to a different school to complete my bachelor's degree.

I was searching for an affordable, online master's degree program that offered project management and/or leadership. Granite State College is that place! I have been enrolled for just under a year, and I love the programs offered. I am enrolled in the MSLD with a focus in Project Management and I wouldn't change a thing. The director of the program is wonderful and very attentive to the students' needs. The classes are fun and interactive even though they are all online. I am highly looking forward to graduating this coming December!

I love GSC because everyone is so helpful. I love the flexibility of the online classes, and the instructors I've had have been awesome. What I find most helpful is my advisor always emails me and tells me about registering for the next term, giving me suggestions for working within my degree - I love that because it takes me less time to figure things out and so far I'm on track! I rely on Jan for this a lot! Thank you Jan!

Granite State College has given me the opportunity to connect with professionals in the field while I earn my degree. The staff is so resourceful and extremely helpful...especially those that I have worked with at the Portsmouth Campus! After years of dead-end jobs, I decided to get my degree so that I could advance and do something that I loved. Granite State College has given my that opportunity. I am almost done with my degree in psychology with a minor in business. I have done all my coursework online and have absolutely loved every minute of it. The instructors have been the best, as have been my fellow students. Next in store for me is my master's degree in project management, of course to be done here at good ol' GSC!!

I have been lucky enough to complete my associates degree at Granite State College, mostly online. When I took classes in person, it was because I chose to and they were offered at a convenient time for me. This has been the most flexible school program I have participated in. Because of my past experience I decided to continue at GSC in my pursuit of my bachelor's degree!

I love that GSC allows me to work full time (actually - I have two jobs!) while still getting a quality education. Their online programs are filled with a number of ways to connect, interact, and be engaged with the instructor and the peers.

I lost my job in 2011 and don’t remember how many job interviews I have been on. It really takes a toll on your self-esteem. I am now enrolled in the master's degree program for Project Management. Granite State College has helped restore my self-esteem and improve my resume. I take classes online which helps my budget and being in the Project Management program has substantially improved my professional network. The job interviews I am going on now are much more positive and I am certain I will be working soon.

I've been taking classes on and off at Granite State College (starting when it was CLL) for well over 12 years. I love the flexibility of being able to take in-class, hybrid, or online classes - whatever fit my schedule. Every single interaction I have had with classmates, instructors, and staff has been positive and informative. GSC really knows what is important for adult learners with busy schedules. The flexibility has allowed me to finish my bachelor's degree and now I'm working toward my master's degree. I couldn't be more pleased.

I love Granite State College! My academic coach met me, thought about everything I'm going through, knows I'm a young mom with epilepsy, and welcomed me with open arms and a smile. I felt so proud of myself to overcome that stress in life and join college. She didn't have any doubts in me, or her decision. She was awesome. I also love the fact that the college campus isn't huge and everything fits perfect, it is also cozy and homey. I do not even have one bad thing to say about the school, and recommend it to people regularly!
