Masters in Project Management earns GAC accreditation

Project Manager

It’s clear that we offer a stand-out masters in Project Management program by the impassioned and professional projects that our students put together. Now we have even more proof!

It is with great pride that the Office of Graduate Studies announces that our Master of Science in Project Management has been awarded the GAC accreditation from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

What is GAC accreditation?

First, it’s important to understand that as an institution is regionally accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The GAC accreditation is a specialized accreditation specifically for project management degree programs.

The primary objective of the GAC accreditation process is to ensure that GAC accredited academic programs prepare students to meet the current and anticipated workforce needs for qualified professionals working in the field of project management.

Why is GAC accreditation important?

A qualitative research study of 17 schools, commissioned for the GAC and completed by SIS International Research in 2010, found that by gaining GAC accreditation, programs ensure classroom content is in line with today’s business environment.  This gives graduates a head start on advancing their careers!

What did the College have to do to earn its GAC accreditation status?
We went through a thorough application and review process by the PMI Global Accreditation Center representatives. By granting us accreditation, PMI recognized that our program “demonstrates a commitment to academic quality and excellence, meets global accreditation standards and prepares students to enter the workforce.”

What is PMI?

PMI is one of the world's largest not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession. Their professional resources and research empower more than 700,000 members, credential holders, and volunteers in nearly every country in the world to enhance their careers, improve their organizations' success, and further mature the profession.

Please join us in congratulating the staff, faculty, students, and alumni who helped to make this important goal of the masters in project management program a reality in 2015.
